New Year, new stuff...
Phil McCoy, fiddler of the finest feckle, is going to be taking a sabbatical from the band for six months or so (I give him 3, 4 tops - the boy just can't stand not playing), and will be missed. Instead of finding someone else, we've decided to work as an old-fashioned, 4-pc dueling guitars band. Much to Pat's chagrin, Rick and I love cranking up the amps and feeling our pants legs flap in the breeze. It won't change the overall sound greatly, but it will definately be a bit more raw and raucous...
I'm continuing at Boon's Treasury in Salem the last two Thursdays of each month. While Phil is on sabbatical, I'll be joined by Garry Meziere on guitar. Garry and I go back quite a few years and always have a terrific time playing music together.
This just added: I'll be playing a solo at Rock Creek in Hillsboro on Thursday, March 16, from 8 - 11.
I'll make an effort to update this stuff more often. Come out and see us...
Peace - Richard

I wanted to send all of you one of our all-too-infrequent missives to let you know what we're up to. The Richard Day-Reynolds Band continues and is sounding pretty darned good these days. This coming Friday, Jan. 21st, we'll be playing at the Beale Street NW Restaurant & Blues Bar in Portland. Located in an old US Bank building at the corner of 107th & NE Sandy, Beale Street NW has terrific barbeque and blues 7 nights a week. Under 21's are allowed until 9:00 p.m. and most of the room is non-smoking. Bob and Margret have set up what could, with enough patronage, become the premiere blues club in the state. There's a cover, but you get back a portion of that cover in a food credit, so how can you lose?
Also, starting Thursday the 20th, Phil and I will be doing a regular acoustic gig at Boon's Treasury in Salem. I started playing at Boon's in 1977/78 and have played there off and on with one band or another since. I love that room. Join Phil and I (and other guests as well...) every 3rd & 4th Thursday from 8 - 11. Boon's is a non-smoking venue.
Again, join us Friday night at Beale Street for killer barbeque and hot tunes. We'd love to see you.

We got mp3's!
We have posted mp3's of the first six songs from the acoustic project on the website. We're pretty darned excited about the way this project is turning out, too. Go to the wesite (http://www.day-reynolds.com/band), click on discography and hey-presto! MP3's. Let me know what you think...
A correction on the Grand Lodge date. The day (Saturday is correct. The appropriate date should be the 24th of Jan.
Hope to see you there.
Richard
