Richard Day-Reynolds and his band play the Waterfront Blues Festival in Portland this week.

A great gig is such a godsend. And McMinnville blues musician Richard Day-Reynolds would never expect one to simply fall from the sky and land at his feet. He understands the cruel realities of the business. "You play wherever someone will hire you to play," Day-Reynolds said. "And you're glad to have the opportunity. It doesn't matter..."

The Richard Day-Reynolds Band has made the Blues fans of this area sit up and take notice this past year and they are looking to elevate their status to new levels this coming year! Read the Cascade Blues Association Review By Kurt Dahlke

"If blues is your game, this is where it's at. Richard Day-Reynolds and Blue Light Special put on a hopping performance on 'Live @ the Deluxe.' This live album...captures the energy and the soul that makes for great blues music. Classic blues styles and vocals make this an enjoyable CD for any blues fan....feed your blues hunger with this excellent CD."

"There's some soulful fun waiting to happen at The Pointe Downtown this weekend as powerhouse McMinnville guitarist Richard Day-Reynolds performs all weekend at the club. Day-Reynolds has been a growing name in the Wilamette Valley for a few years.. Blues is the mainstay of this roaring guitar slinger and his band...,creating a churning mass of gutsy stuff that sucks people onto the dance floor in large numbers..."
- Salem Statesman Journal Weekender.

"Great Stuff....Richard Day-Reynolds gives new meaning to some serious rockin' blues."
- BA (Bob Anchetta), The Sunday Night Blues Show, KINK FM, Portland

"You got nothing to worry about Richard. The liner notes of 'Live @ The Deluxe' question the advisability of putting out a live CD as the first release of an unknown band. One rehearsal, no booze and the flu were a few of the obstacles thrown in the band's path on this outing. If that's the case, who knows what will happen in the studio, this stuff is great!...'Live @ The Deluxe' perfectly captures the feel of a hard core blues bar band in fine form." -Kurt Dahlke, Blues Notes

".....guitarist and vocalist, Day-Reynolds is a rightous laid-back blues stylist... 'Live @ The Deluxe' is a great sampling of what his blues band does live. A melodic, soulful group of bluesers with a rockin flair and a great front guy who writes some damn fine tunes."
-Hipfish, October, 1999

"I have known Richard for a number of years. He is a dedicated musician, great songwriter, and a true musical brother...The CD is full of great arrangements, energy and just great playing. For those of you who have not yet heard this band, I highly encourage you to take the time to catch one of their shows. You won't be dissapointed, I promise you that."
-Garry Meziere, Ellen Whyte & Reflex Blue, The Blues Notes, February 2001

"Richard Day-Reynolds And Blue Light Special make damn good music, plain and simple. The CD 'Live @ The Deluxe' has had a permanent spot in our house music rotation from the day we got hold of a copy. The music and energy are never better in the house than when they play live. We will continue to have Richard and the band back whenever we can."
-Gerry Hunter, Owner, Moonlight Theater

"...Richard writes the most incredable ballads I have ever heard."
